Sitting Still - by Ava

2020

Created by Elise 3 years ago
Sitting still,
I watched tender petals fall, gently,
Unable to penetrate the warm quiet earth just below.

Standing up,
I swayed under the burning heat,
Soaking in the sun’s rays,
Drifting into a daze.

Walking fast,
I saw the green begin to leave from the trees
And wished for the warmth to stay

Running now,
Frightened forward by the cold winds cutting across my cheeks,
I reach my hand over to my heart
Desperately yearning for the warmth of love.
